Towards the end of Christmas break I was without internet connection, which in turn led me to not posting nearly as often. Then, once the semester started and things got crazy, that habit only grew. But alas, here I am to give full updates on my life.

Probably the most important thing that has happened is my decision to leave bSmart Guide. This decision has absolutely nothing to do with the work I did, with Meagan, or with anything else related to bSmart. Truth is, I just do not have the time to fulfill intern duties this semester. I have a fully loaded schedule and have recently started a new internship— sales with the Lexington Legends.

The Legends are a Class-A Minor League Baseball team affiliated with the Kansas City Royals. Their stadium may be older and not as sparkly as Bowling Green's or even as UK baseball's new park, but it is a whole lot bigger.

I have not done any actual work with the team yet, as the past few weeks have been only training. But, I do plan on starting the full process of being in sales for the team starting this Friday.

Kernel stuff is beginning to pick back up and be just as busy as it was last semester. I have taken on the challenge of covering both men's and women's tennis teams, which will be my main focus throughout the semester. However, I am doing a couple other cool things, such as some magazine stories for the lifestyle section and even covering a UK men's basketball game on Tuesday! All my time with the Kernel and thoroughly enjoying every step of my journey with it has led me to conclude that by the time I graduate, I want to have served as Sports Editor or Assistant Sports Editor for the paper.

School got off to a rough start this semester. With all of classes landing back-to-back on Tuesdays and Thursdays to make room for my internship, I was quickly exhausted and out of time to do literally anything else. I made the very smart decision to drop my accounting class, since it was way too much for me and now gives me a large break in my days to do my homework, sleep, etc.

Dropping accounting means I could either switch my minor from business to something else, or take it again later in college. I did some digging, and decided that I wanted to drop my business minor in favor of another one. Since all of the business classes that I wanted to take were econ, marketing (which I have to take for my major anyway), and management (which I can take literally any time), I decided to pick up an economics minor instead. I really enjoy my online econ class this semester, and hope that my future studies will benefit me greatly.

I also am rushing the co-ed service fraternity on campus, Alpha Phi Omega. All of the rush events and people have been so amazing and fun that I am going way overboard and attending an event almost every day from now until the end of the month. It's really giving me that connection to campus that I was missing last semester.

Lastly, I am in the search for summer internships. I am currently torn between extending my sports experience and going after something a little bit different for a while. Since it is so early in my college career, I think I am going to go for the latter. However, I do have an interview with a small baseball team in the greater Cincinnati area coming up in the next week.

Overall, life is pretty good. I miss blogging a whole whole lot, so I'm going to try to get back into it. Stay tuned for more news throughout the semester!

A few days into the internship of my dreams and I am realizing that it is not quite that. I dislike the work I do, what I represent, who...
