Finding purpose

A few days into the internship of my dreams and I am realizing that it is not quite that. I dislike the work I do, what I represent, who I'm moving towards becoming. I don't like it one bit. The introductory class to my major is probably one of my least favorite I have ever taken. The prospect of my future seems like it is less like me than anything I have ever come into contact with before.

So what, then? Am I not meant to work in sports? Am I not meant to be in media relations/PR/event planning/marketing comm?

I don't know. The clarity of who I am and what I want to do has never been so far from reach.

But there is one thing that keeps me anchored. Keeps me in love with being at UK. Keeps me feeling lucky and thankful everyday.

Writing.

The Kernel has always been my favorite thing about college, and I consider myself lucky every single day to be a part of it.

After the incredible sports editor Erika and I covered the Mississippi State basketball game, I was so alive. That is my passion. No matter how many times I try to convince myself to go a more "practical" route, it never works.

This is it. This is what I'm meant to be doing. This is me.
